A large audience was at hand at the University of Miami’s Casa Bacardí on Monday, January 24th for the presentation of Republican Cuba, Raul Chao’s latest book. Panelists included Dr. Eduardo Zayas-Bazán, Rev. Marcos Antonio Ramos and Mr. Manuel Salvat. The presentation was co-sponsored by Dupont Circle Editions, Cuban Cultural Heritage, the National Association of Cuban-American Educators (NACAE) and the University of Miami’s Institute for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies.
Republican Cuba is an illustrated history of the fifty seven years of existence of the Republic of Cuba, 1902 to 1959. With 494 pages and over 1200 photographs of key people and places in the history of the Cuban Republic, Republican Cuba is an invaluable resource to anyone studying Cuban history.
